About Dr. Dassani

Meghna Dassani, DMD is passionate about helping patients with sleep disordered breathing get the treatment they need to live healthier, happier lives. Throughout her career, she has gained invaluable insight into what it takes to implement those services into the practice and currently shares her knowledge and experience in her role as a speaker. She is an international speaker that strives to leave audiences with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver sleep apnea treatments. Before attending the Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University, Dr. Dassani operated a successful dental practice in Mumbai. For the past 17 years, she has been practicing in Houston, Texas where she continues to enhance her knowledge of obstructive sleep apnea.

About Alistair

Alastair is an ex-safari guide, born and raised in Zimbabwe. He is currently based in the USA with his wife and two children. He is the owner of Parallax Consulting and producer of the economic and market forecasting service The Parallax Report. He has served as adviser to state governors and legislators on social and economic policy, as well as public and conservation policy think tanks. As a child of Africa, he is proud to serve the programs, people and potential of Chengeta Wildlife.

Dr Alfred Maksoud

About Dr. Maksoud

Dr. Alfred Maksoud earned his medical degree at American University of Beirut Faculty of Medicine in Lebanon and completed his internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. This was followed by his fellowship in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston where he served as chief fellow.

Board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine, Dr. Maksoud has been in private practice in southeast Houston since 1997. Dr. Maksoud’s practice philosophy is to offer the highest quality, comprehensive, state-of-the-art care to each patient. He performed the first ultrasound bronchoscopes and bronchial thermoplasties (as a treatment for asthma) in southeast Houston. He speaks French and Arabic.

Tara Erson DMD

About Dr. Erson

Dr. Tara Erson never imagined that less than 10 years out of dental school teeth would no longer be her focus, but tongues, jaws, and airways have become her passion. She was introduced to tongue-tie while attending La Leche League meetings with her first child. As time went on she began to see how negatively ties impacted breastfeeding and so much more.


Over the last 4 years Dr. Tara has completed over 450 hours of continuing education in the areas of ties, function, airway, and interceptive ortho. In 2018 she started Smart Mouth – a team-based practice dedicated to all things related to the tongue. Dr. Tara shares her time between the office and home with her husband, Cliff, and three sons, Kale, Rye, and Sage

About Kristie Gatto

Over the last 20 years, Kristie has had the pleasure of working in multiple facilities in various capacities. She has performed diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to orofacial myology, pediatric (toddler/child) feeding aversion, apraxia, disorders related to cleft lip and palate, language disorders, aural rehabilitation, dysphasia, and pragmatic language disorders in infants, pre-school children, school-aged children, and adults. For the past fifteen years, Kristie has focused her clinical skills on treating patients of all ages with issues in feeding, dysphagia, deglutition, oral sensory aversion, orofacial myology, swallowing, and sleep related breathing disorders.

About Christina Guth

Christina has been in the dental field for over 15 years now and she has experience in all aspects of the front office. She has really found enjoyment in getting to know patients and be involved in their lives as well as finding ways to help them achieve their dream smiles. Being at Dassani Dentistry since the doors originally opened, Christina has enjoyed seeing the practice grow, developing incredible patient relationships, and working with the rest of our wonderful team!
